Step-By-Step Process

First Contact & Online Consultation

The journey usually begins online. A patient or their family contacts us through email, phone, or hospital website. They share medical reports—X-rays, MRI, or doctor notes from their country. My team and I review the reports and arrange a video consultation. In this consultation, we try to:

  • Understand their pain history and limitations.

  • Explain if they're a candidate for robotic knee/hip replacement.

  • Share the expected recovery timeline.

  • Answer all their concerns about travel, language, cost, and safety.

This first step is very important because it builds trust and confidence even before the patient travels.

Treatment Plan & Travel Preparation

After consultation, we provide a detailed treatment plan, including:

  • Type of surgery needed (Robotic Knee, Hip, or OXi-Nanoplasty).

  • Estimated hospital stay (usually 5–7 days).

  • Rehabilitation plan.

  • Cost package (covering surgery, medicines, stay, and follow-up).

  • The hospital then supports the patient with:

  • Medical Visa Assistance (invitation letters for Indian embassy).

  • Travel Planning (guidance on nearest airports and airlines).

  • Accommodation Options for relatives or caregivers.

This preparation ensures that by the time the patient boards the flight, everything is ready for a smooth experience.

Arrival in India

At the airport, my hospital team receives the patient.
Transport is arranged directly to the hospital or hotel.
Translators are provided if language is a barrier.
Dietary needs are taken care of (veg, non-veg, or cultural preferences)
Many patients say: “Doctor, I felt like a VIP guest, not just a patient.”

Pre-Surgery Assessment

On arrival, we repeat some key investigations:

  • Blood tests, ECG, chest X-ray.

  • Detailed examination by physician and anesthetist.

  • 3D mapping scans for robotic planning.

I personally meet the patient, re-examine them, and finalize the surgical plan. I also explain the procedure again to remove any last-minute anxiety. This face-to-face reassurance is very important—especially when the patient is far away from home.

If you or a loved one are suffering from chronic knee or hip pain, arthritis, joint stiffness, or difficulty walking — and you're seeking expert care beyond your city or country — this program is for you.

Surgery Day

On the day of surgery:

  • The patient is admitted.

  • Anesthesia is given (mostly spinal with sedation).

  • Robotic mapping is performed.

  • The surgery is carried out with millimeter precision, ensuring perfect alignment and balance

  • Within hours, the patient is in recovery with stable vitals.

Most foreign patients are amazed when I tell them: “Tomorrow, you will stand and take your first steps.”

Post-Surgery Recovery in India

Recovery begins immediately:

  • Day 1: Sit up and walk a few steps with walker.

  • Day 2–3: Walk longer distances, start stair practice.

  • Day 4–5: Pain is much reduced; patients walk confidently with walker or stick.

Physiotherapists work daily with the patient. Dietitians guide on nutrition. Nurses provide cultural care—sometimes even learning to greet patients in their own language! By the time of discharge, most foreign patients feel independent and confident.

Follow-Up & Tourism

After discharge:

  • Patients may stay 1–2 weeks in India for follow-up checks.

  • During this time, many also explore India—visiting temples, beaches, or cultural landmarks.

  • Hospitals often provide travel guidance and ensure safe tourism.

This makes the journey not just about surgery, but also about experiencing India’s warmth and hospitality.

Returning Home & Long-Term Care

Before flying back, I provide:

  • A discharge summary with all surgery details.

  • A rehab guide with exercises and precautions.

  • Contact information for online follow-ups.

Many patients continue to send me videos of their walking progress from their home country. With modern telemedicine, follow-up is easy and effective.
